Cam Scott started Artistic Embroidery in 2000, creating images with thread and material that complimented the photographic artwork of husband and natural history photographer, Gregory K. Scott. She began developing home decor items such as pillows, bed linens, towels, etc. based on Greg's photography. But as she worked with the embroidery design software, her interests expanded to many other areas.
For example, when a friend got married she created wedding designs for towels and other wedding gifts. When sons became members of the UW Madison Marching Band, she embroidered jackets and sweatshirts for the percussion section with their custom designed logos. When friends' children graduated from high school, she made unusual and unique graduation gifts for them, including pillows, blankets, banners and neck scarves.
Many of the embroidery designs are originals based on Greg's photographs. Each one takes hours to create, test stitch and edit before the finished piece of art is ready to offer for sale. Some of the designs are purchased from other embroidery design sources and in some cases have been edited to fit a special need or occasion (such as a wedding theme).
Please enjoy looking at Cam's work and let her know if you find something that catches your fancy or if you have questions about arranging for custom designed pieces.
